This muntjac deer lived in the next garden for two years. I first spotted him one night around two years ago when I was walking back from helping Connie. The deer was a frequent visitor as it gingerly walked through the hornbeam hedge and took a drink in a small pond - the place he heads towards half way through the video.
The owner had died next door, and the garden was large enough to support the deer with enough food and grazing before new neighbours arrived this year. During a conversation about the deer the neighbours told me how magical it was to have a deer living at the end of their garden, but within two weeks they encouraged the deer to find a new home... The gardens are more than large enough for us all to live together. I hope the deer has found a better place and many new friends.
